Region 2, Zone 1 - October 2009

The zone meeting of Region 2, Zone 1 with Deforest, Token Creek, Sun Prairie and Waunakee Westport was held on Aug. 18th at Rodeside Grill.

Club Presidents Gary Overcash, Mike Vraniak, Pat Parrish and Brian Raemisch; Secretaries Erling Esely, Barbara Henning and Bill Clausius; Membership Chairman Ron Kalshuer, Tara Vraniak, John Weishar and Sandy Larson attended the meeting. Cabinet members in attendance were 2nd VDG Neil Winchell, John Thiesenhusen, Randy Harrison and Walt Althaus.

Clubs in attendance were well represented as well as members of the District Cabinet. VDG Neil Winchell asked all clubs to develop a plan for membership growth. John Thiesenhusen asked the clubs to consider helping there communities to develop are cycling plan. Walt Althaus gave a update of the Wisconsin Lions Foundation Funding. Randy Harrison informed us of the districts website and how it can be used for our clubs to educate new members. The clubs shared their ideas on getting new members and retention. Clubs have reported no change in membership at this time. The next meeting is OCT.13th at 6:30p.m. at the Rodeside Grill.
